These are the shared desktop and web shortcuts. A browser or operating system may reserve a key combination. Commands also depend on which workspace or control has focus. Open Settings → Keybindings for the searchable in-app reference; see Settings and defaults for layout and composer preferences. Cmd/Ctrl means Command on macOS and Control on Windows or Linux. A shortcut written with Ctrl alone uses Control on every platform, including macOS.

Workspace

To switch layouts, open the command palette and choose Toggle Zen Mode. To find a filename in Quick Open, use Find files and search text. Remove the command palette’s leading > when switching to file lookup.

Zen tools

The project script shortcut opens the Run surface. Its behavior depends on whether a run script is configured and whether it is already running.

Composer

Shift+Tab changes agent mode while a composer is available. When working with Side Chat, use the permission menu beneath the intended composer to choose its mode, and check both selections before sending. Settings → General → Send messages with lets you choose Enter or the platform’s Cmd/Ctrl+Enter combination. Read the hint beside the selected option for newline and alternate follow-up behavior. Inside model search, use the arrow keys to move between results, Enter to choose an available model, and Escape to close the picker. In a structured question panel, the keyboard follows question-specific controls. Cmd/Ctrl+Enter submits all valid answers, so review every question’s preselected option before using it. In an approval request, Cmd/Ctrl+Enter approves the pending action. Plain Enter can also approve it, including from the approval feedback field. See Stop a response and continue for interruption behavior, queued messages, and recovery when Stop is not confirmed. When the file tree has focus, Cmd/Ctrl+C, Cmd/Ctrl+X, and Cmd/Ctrl+V copy, cut, and paste project entries. See Organize files for destination selection and the difference from editing text.
